Annual Report

In 2024, the National Abortion Federation (NAF) continued to adapt our programs and approaches to best address the needs of our member clinics and patients seeking abortion care. We addressed the shifting realities of abortion access through our broad range of programs and support services for members, with a focus on helping providers adapt their work as necessary through remote abortion access, providing pregnant people with the assistance they need to find abortion care, and ensuring the safety and quality of care at member clinics. We approach all our work with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and we are fighting to address the systemic racism that further limits abortion access across the U.S.

The mission of the National Abortion Federation is to unite, represent, serve, and support abortion providers in delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care. When you give to NAF, your gift helps support abortion providers and people seeking abortion care.

Julie Gonen-2

Welcoming our new Chief Legal Officer

In December, we welcomed Julie Gonen, JD as NAF's new Chief Legal Officer. In her role, she will direct our organization’s legal strategy, manage the legal department, lead the rebuilding of our policy and advocacy work, and serve on the senior staff team. As we prepare to navigate an anti-abortion trifecta at the national level, Julie’s strong experience will be vital to our efforts to protect abortion access for providers and patients.

Previously, Julie served as the Director of Federal Policy at the National Center for Lesbian Rights. Her work focused on reproductive health, rights, and justice, federal nondiscrimination protections, access to health care, and a progressive and inclusive vision of religious liberty. She's also led federal policy and advocacy work at the Center for Reproductive Rights, and she also served on the board of directors for Abortion Care Network.
