March 10 is the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers. This day was set aside in 1996 to commemorate the 1993 assassination of Dr. David Gunn, the first provider murdered by an anti-abortion extremist.
Now more than ever, abortion providers need your support and appreciation. Providers continue to face aggressive, extreme legislative attacks that threaten their ability to remain open and have even forced some facilities to close. Many of our members also endure threats and violence just because of the work they do.
NAF members include private and non-profit clinics, Planned Parenthood affiliates, women’s health centers, physicians’ offices, and hospitals who together care for more than half the women who choose abortion in the U.S. and Canada each year. Our members also include public hospitals and both public and private clinics in Mexico City and private clinics in Colombia.
