Wednesday’s Words from Women
December 5, 2012
I am a disabled, middle-aged woman. I have no income and a college degree that’s going to waste, and a lot of student loan debt. Because of my education level, the government will not give me disability benefits and this pregnancy endangers my life. Without the help from NAF, I would have never been able to get the help I needed. The level of personal and medical care I received was excellent. Thank you so much! God bless you for helping women in these special kinds of circumstances.

I have two young sons and a full-time job that keeps me working long hours. I knew that I couldn’t physically, mentally, or financially support another child. I decided to make the trip to a NAF member clinic in Cincinnati, which is a two hour drive for me, and I had to make three different trips to comply with all of the state laws. I was treated with respect and didn’t feel judged in any way. The staff at the facility as well as NAF have helped me make this difficult decision a little easier. I would like to thank NAF and the clinic staff. Your effort, patience, and help is greatly appreciated.

Over one-third of women of reproductive age have an abortion by the age of 45. However, women who have chosen abortion are often absent from the public debate. In order to break the silence surrounding abortion, we feature real stories from real women each Wednesday on our blog. If you would like to share your story with us or have it published on our blog, go to http://www.prochoice.org/pregnant/hotline/share.html.
