NAF is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment

Statement of Vicki Saporta, President and CEO of the National Abortion Federation (NAF):

As a mission-driven organization dedicated to justice, NAF is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. We have a longstanding policy prohibiting sexual and other illegal harassment, and all employees are expected to abide by this policy.

We take any claim of harassment very seriously. We have looked into all complaints of sexual harassment that have been brought to HR or to the General Counsel and have taken appropriate steps to address any and all violations of NAF’s policy. We are confident that we have dealt appropriately, and consistently with the law and our policies, in handling personnel matters.

Confidentiality is a key consideration in personnel issues, including in the reporting, investigation, and resolution of harassment claims. As a responsible employer, we cannot share specific details about personnel matters—including information about disciplinary actions taken against employees—with other staff or non-employees. We know that this can be frustrating for some staff and create the perception of inaction on our part, even when that is not the case.

NAF takes the safety of our employees very seriously, and we maintain a strong commitment to anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.
