Kavanaugh must withdraw his nomination
Statement of The Very Reverend Katherine H. Ragsdale, Interim President & CEO of the National Abortion Federation (NAF):
Given all we have learned about Brett Kavanaugh in recent weeks—including multiple sexual assault allegations and his dishonest testimony before Congress—we call for Judge Kavanaugh to withdraw his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
We have adamantly opposed Kavanaugh’s nomination because his judicial record and evasive testimony during his confirmation hearings raised grave concerns about how his future rulings could jeopardize Roe v. Wade and other reproductive rights cases. But there is more at stake than just Roe. The Supreme Court is the final defense against dangerous and unconstitutional attacks on women’s equal protection and basic rights and freedoms. Judge Kavanaugh cannot be trusted and his confirmation hearings should not continue.
