We need someone who will enforce the law.
President-Elect Trump’s decision to nominate Senator Jeff Sessions for Attorney General cannot go unchallenged. Senator Sessions has consistently opposed reproductive health, rights, and justice, voting 86 times against our issues during his 20 years in the Senate.
Tell your Senators to stop Sessions!
Senator Sessions has been endorsed by the extremist anti-abortion group Operation Rescue. He voted against an amendment to create a “Women’s Health Care and Clinic Security and Safety Fund” that would have ensured enhanced safety measures for reproductive health care providers and clinics. He has also repeatedly voted against protecting abortion providers from violence by rejecting an amendment introduced by Senator Schumer, that would have prevented perpetrators of violent crimes against abortion providers from evading fines by filing for bankruptcy.
Call your Senators today-Thursday, January 5th, and let them know we need someone who will follow the law and respect the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act!
Senator Sessions’ confirmation hearing is next week and he is already trying to hide his anti-reproductive rights and anti-civil rights record. We won’t be fooled.
Take action today and tell your Senators you won’t accept an Attorney General willing to ignore threats and violence targeting abortion providers. Call 877-959-6082, enter your zip code, and when you reach your Senator’s office, introduce yourself as a constituent.

I urge Senator _______ to oppose the nomination of Jeff Sessions to be the next Attorney General. Sessions’ record was bad 30 years ago when the Senate denied him a federal judgeship, and it has not improved since. Jeff Sessions cannot be trusted to fairly enforce the law, particularly when it comes to holding anti-abortion extremists accountable for their criminal activities. Sessions is not fit to be Attorney General and I hope I can count on Senator _______ to vote against his nomination. |
